Miller Turner have acquired options over 84 acres of
Farmland adjacent to J.24 of the M5 motorway at Bridgwater.
Miller Turner are currently pursuing an outline mixed use planning
consent. The options are for a total of 10 years. It is
envisaged that a beneficial planning consent will be achieved
within a 2-3 year time frame. We are in a particularly strong
position to achieve progress given our local connections
and track record at Express Park.
The site is currently in agricultural use, well above the flood
plain and adjacent to a major residential development. It is
likely that mixed uses B1, B2 and B8 will be considered but
residential is also a possibility. Although no marketing has
taken place approaches have already been received from
high profile distribution occupiers. Stop Press EDF have
declared a formal interest in securing at least 50% of the
site for a park and ride and freight consolidation use which
could lead on to a staff housing requirement during the
construction of two new nuclear power plants at nearby
Hinkley Point, due to be Europes largest construction site
after the Olympics. Miller Turner's view is that the development of
the site should be planned around creating long term
investments.
